One of the best ways to offset the costs of boat ownership is to charter it out. We can help you through the pitfalls of setting up a boat for charter. At Blue Yacht Management we specialise in dealing with both power and sail, from RIB's right up to 60 foot yachts.
We can make sure all requirements for coding are discreet, if that is not possible then we will make sure it can be easily reversed without any expensive remediation work. We have accounts with all the major safety companies so you can choose the equipment that you like, depending on budget or other preferences, we are completely impartial so can offer advice on this basis.
Our Charter Coding service includes
Carrying out an Initial survey of the boat to give an idea of costs and so we can organise requirements with the coding surveyor. At this point we can also meet you onboard to ensure that we locate all safety gear and signs in positions you will be happy with.
This service is a completely hassle free option, we oversee work at all stages with your best interests in mind, for example we make sure the boat gets lifted out safely, we meet with all necessary professionals and arrange the necessary permissions with the marina to allow access to the boat.
We are completely impartial, so are happy to let you know about the good and bad points of chartering:
Advantages of Chartering
Offset costs of ownership, with a potential profit as well
Various accounting benefits, it is possible to reclaim VAT, and offset tax.
We can advise on the best skippers to use, so that the boat is in safe hands
Disadvantages of Chartering
High set up costs if the boat hasn't been in charter before
Depending on the charters you agree to, the boat can be used a lot, so costs of this need to be considered, for example extra servicing costs of the engine, more winch services etc.
Less time to use the boat privately
We have a wealth of knowledge we can use so feel free to ring us to go through all the options.
